OK this is a basic computer question that has always bothered me. How can I watch a video tut and work in PSE at the same time without clicking back and forth? Can this be done?
I have trouble resizing PSE window. It is either minimized or open. The mid-size option just makes it shorter but not narrower.

If you're a Windows user there is a way to do that, assuming your monitor is large enough to still give you a good view of both windows. To do it, have both windows open on your desktop and then on the task bar (where the Start button is) right click on it and in the menu that pops up you will have options for tiling your windows. You can tile vertically or horizontally, whichever suits you.
Also, to resize your windows yourself, if you look in the bottom left corner of one that is not filling your desktop you should see what looks like 3 small rows of dots. Grab this with your mouse, and while holding down the left mouse button you can resize your window to just about any dimension you want it.
HTH! :D

I am using Vista. I don't have "tile" but I have show windows side by side. That works well for this IE window, but PSE doesn't resize. I don't see any handles that I can get ahold of on PSE not at the corners or sides. No dots that you mention either. I have a large monitor and side by side would work if PSE would cooperate. "Cascade" is also an option. Makes both windows squatty, but once again I can't resize PSE only the other window with arrows that I get when I hover at the edges. Why not in PSE?

Just found those dots in the bottom right corner of PSE 6. Now combined with cascade I can do what I want! Thanks bunches! This really simplifies things. You wouldn't believe the way I've been doing it. :o
Thanks!

Glad you worked it out,the best thing I ever did was get a second monitor, so that I have the video playing on one screen and photoshop open on the other.

OMG!! I never thought about hooking another monitor to my laptop. My dh has a small flat monitor sitting on the floor in his office. I just hooked it up. Now just have to figure out how to get it working. I already have a hub with 2 printers, scanner, Palm dock, 2 EHD, and DVD burner hooked up. Hope I don't overwhelm my PC. Everything has been working well so far. Hope we can get this monitor up and running.

My hubby got it working! So I guess I have double...whatever. haha This is so cool. Can't wait to try some tutorials with my new setup. This is the cat's a**! Whatever that expression refers to I'm not sure, but watching a tut and working at the same time is sooo convenient. Thanks for the tip. I never would have thought of it or thought it might be possible!!

Cat's a**??? I always thought the expression was "cat's meow". Cat's a** sounds like a really bad thing....and we have cats in our house.

This is one of the great things about using a Mac and having the floating desktop ... most software (including Elements) has no back to the workspace so you can view tutorials in the gap :)

Wendy, that IS cool. We grumble so much about Vista, our next computer very well may be a Mac. I'll have to remember that feature, when the time comes.
