Wendy, I must admit I was a bit hasty with my posting because the price was for both PSE 7 and Premiere 7 bundle. I didn't see anything about the storage option though.......Thanks for bringing my inacurate posting to my attention. It was late and I'm old.............

I found PSE7 for $94.99 with a $20.00 rebate. The rebate is good for present owners of PSE.
If I get PS7, will it automatically transfer all my present fonts, brushes, shapes, layer styles etc.? If not, how do I get all of those into the upgraded 7 version? I have so many extras on my PSE4 that I don't want to lose.

Hi ...

When you install PSE7 you will need to reinstall all the things you mention ... hopefully when it gets nearer we will have written some instruction for installing things :)

Thanks Wendy! I can always count on you for answers. I really want to upgrade from PSE4 to 7. I certainly hope someone will put out a tutorial or some type of information for installing all my extras. I am sure I am not the only one worried about this situation. I will be watching and waiting.

This is interesting. When I opened PSE6 Organizer, I got an offer to pre-order the upgrade (PSE & and PSE Premier 7), but for $119, with free shipping (which is a joke, because aren't we going to download it anyway???).

Wonder why your offer is for $150 and my $115???

Just wondering if this is strictly an elements user readership or if there are also Adobe people on board?

Also, does anybody know if the online site is designed as a complete backup of everything (tags, pictures, etc) of what one has on his computer? Will one have access to this DB from any computer? Will there be an automatic synchronization of the home/online data sets?

I'm having tremendous problems moving my pictures and catalog from one disc to another as my PSE 6.0 will freeze when clicking on backup. I'm hoping that 7.0 will take all my 'stuff' and store it up line somewhere so that I can then bring it back to a place of my choosing.

Yes, I've seen these, but I wasn't impressed; I mean "free shipping"?

Who cares about shipping; most of us simply DL upgrades! Don't tell me they don't realize that!

Seems like they could do better than that, for so many loyal users, who pay for these upgrades on an, almost, annual basis!

Do you think it would be better to actually get the box of Photo Elements 7 or the upgrade? Without the Photoshop.com Plus membership the price is only $79.99. What does the Plus membership consist of?
I'm always concerned about my computer crashing and figured if I bought the box, I could always reinstall on a new computer???

It's really not a problem getting the download rather than the box - the download stays in your Adobe account and you can download it again any time you want - I've done that a couple of times with earlier versions to install on a new computer and it works fine. So IMHO it's better than buying the box (which I assume only contains a CD) which can get damaged or lost. The only reason I can see for buying a box is if you have a slow dial-up connection and downloading would take forever. It's a big file.

There was another thread on what the Plus was - as I recall it's more online storage and some unspecified tips, tutorials and downloads. Just what those consist of remains to be seen.

BTW the upgrade and the box are just the same (or at any rate it always has been) - it's not really an upgrade - just a new standalone version discounted if you have a previous version registered. You can run both the new and the old versions on the same computer.

Tony, since it is a full version, could I sell my Ver. 6.0 with the serial number to someone who wanted an upgrade to an even earlier version, as long as I remove it from my computer. With versions of Photoshop, a reduced price "upgrade" version required the earlier version to be installed (or at least the serial numbe roto be in hand to type in) before the upgrade would install.

If this is truly a discunted version as opposed to an upgrade, it would seem that recycling the last version would be appropriate.

There are a lot of people I "see" on this forum still running Vers 5 and lower. Sell your Ver 6 for $40 and you have cut the cost of the upgarde in about half.

Certainly you can resell your PSE6 but you will also need to transfer the licence so that the person who buys it will be able to register it with Adobe .... you just need to contact Adobe and they will officially transfer the registration for you.

You can get the form etc for transferring it here:

Has any one here actually bought the new Version 7? If so what do you think of it so far?

It's only available through preorder so far - doesn't get released until the end of September I believe.

It has some nice new features plus some good improvements to the existing ones ... so I really think that it is worth getting.

Hopefully a demo version will be available soon after the release so you may want to try out that.

For me I think that it is well worth getting this version :)

I am thinking of buying PSE7 (have been using PSE5) but dread the idea of having to reinstall everything. Any help you can offer would be great.

TonyW

It's not really a problem. you can have both PSE5 and PSE7 on the same computer and I just move stuff over to the new program as I need them. Helps to clear out some of the things I've added but never used.
