View Full Version : Redfining scaling key-chord

I find that, far more often than not, one wants to constrain proportions (keep aspect ratio) when scaling an item that was pasted into a layer.

That means remembering to hold down the shift key while scaling the image.

Is there a way to reverse the key-stroke definition, so that clicking and dragging retains aspect ratio, and shift-clicking and dragging does not?

Are there ways to customize keys and key-chords in general?

The newer versions of Elements, starting with 4 or 5 (don't know which for sure) are working the way you want.
No, I do not know of any way to change the Keyboard Shortcuts.

Thanks, Juergen.

I have been planning to upgrade to PE 6 anyway.

Just for completeness - the Move and Free Transform tools default to "Constrain Proportions" beginning with PSE5.

It is a toggle on the Options bar, and the Shift key will temporarily reverse the condition.
