How do I put photos on a cd to share with someone who doesn't have PSE? I have selected a bunch of photos and tagged them as ones to share. When I bring up that catagory, then select all and choose CD or DVD, most of the photos are jpg. files, but the ones I've edited are pse files. Is there an easy way to make all of them jpg. files before putting them on a cd?
Thanks,
Terry

You can save those psd files as jpgs by doing file save as and then you can select what file you want to save them as from the drop down menu and then rename them to something different.

I don't want to throw cold water on this project, but hope what you are sharing is legal to share. If these are elements that you have purchased, they probably aren't. Even freebies should be obtained directly from the creator, not sent second hand.------------------------ Shar------------------------------- (sorry...very sensitive to this kind of stuff...DS is an intellectual property attorney. :O )

Hi Shar,
Yes, all the photos I am using are ones I took myself of my grandchildren! Nothing anybody except friends and family would want! They are adorable little ones though:D!

I'm not sure what you meant about "elements that I have purchased probably not being legal". I am not copying my Photoshop Elements program - I just used my Elements organizer to select my photos that I wanted to put on the CD. I didn't know any other way to select them than to make a category for "Photos to Share" (some of my favorites of the grands), then tag each of those pics with that tag and move them to that category. I ended up moving that category to the Share heading, then to CD/DVD.

If anyone knows of a better way to share my own photos on giveaway CD's for family, please let me know.

Thanks a bunch,
Terry

You can make a folder called friends in my pictures in pse open your psd file save as new name . close your psd , do you want to save changes ? Say no that way you can keep your psd file if you want.
Then go to your burn program and copy the folder with all the jpegs. Burn this to a cd or dvd for your friends.

Oh good, Terry. I misunderstood. I thought you might be copying scrapbook elements you had purchased (downloaded). If you make them yourself, no problem. But if they are made by another artist, they shouldn't be copied. Your own photos? A moot point, obviously, although I'm sure your grandkids are worth copyrighting! :) ...I know mine all are! :D --------------------Shar

My preferred method

Select the tag for the photos you wish to share.

Select All the images

File>Export
The dialog box here will let you convert everything to jpeg format. You can rename to a common basename here too if you like. (Terry2008-01, Terry2008-02)

Choose a destination for your export. You can choose a folder on your desktop and then burn from there later with your burning software. This lets you add a "read me" text file or more photo folders. Or you can choose your cd folder and elements will burn and close the cd. (Thats how it works for me with v2 and xp anyway)

Thanks to all of you for your responses.

Karin Sue, your method sounds like what I'm wanting to do. Under the File/Export will the dialog box simply ask if I want to change all files to jpeg or will I have to go through them individually? I'm hoping for something that will let me do all at once.

Shar, I couldn't figure out what in the world I was doing wrong by wanting to copy my grandbaby pics. Glad it was just misunderstanding the question and I wasn't doing anything illegal:)!

Thanks a bunch,
Terry

It will do them all at once.

Thanks, Karin, I'll try that method next time I have to make a cd of photos!
