View Full Version : Share - Photo Mail Problem

I use Elements 6.0, and I use the Share - Photo Mail feature on a regular basis. Up until this past week it has worked perfectly. This past week, it works only when it wants to. When it does not work I get a message that says, "Your e-mail could not be sent because an unknown error has occurred." As I use Adobe's mail site I do believe that it is a server problem at the Adobe site, but they would not answer my questions regarding that. Please let me know if any of you are experiencing the same sporadic service.

My sincere thanks in advance for your response.

John,

Thanks for your reply. It would appear that there are some problems with the service. I do hope that Adobe can correct it because it really is a nice feature and I do use it a lot.

I have had the same idiotic error message several times after typing that 4 million charactor verification code. Perhaps, as I think, Adobe's E-Mail service is a peice of Junk. Why in the name of all that is holy can't you simply copy and paste the verification code?

Thanks for your reply Chas,

Your right, it is a definite problem. I have asked friends that use Elements 5 and 6 to attempt to use the Photo Mail, and they have had the same problem. Most of the time it no longer works. It's unfortunate, because it's a wonderful feature of Elements. I do believe the problem lies with the Adobe server, but they would not answer my question regarding that possibility. Let's just hope that whatever it is, Adobe finds a way to restore a feature that we purchased, but can no longer use.

I am experiencing the same issue with photoshop 6, as many of you this starting to happen about a week ago. I contacted Photoshop which verify my settings were ok (File- Preferences- Sharing- E-mail client:Adobe Mail Client- your name and last your e-mail).
This is a great tool for sharing pictures, but it works whenever feels like, it has become very annoying. Hopping it would help, I uninstalled and install againg the software, twice! no luck, just had to type the longest verification code and there is no way around the copy and paste funtion.
I hope Adobe figure how to fix this issue, love the flexibility of it.

If anyone can figure this one out, please help.

Thank you

It doesn't bode well for the new Web-based service being bundled with PSE 7.

I received the same error message for nearly a week. I became so baffled and frustrated that I posted a similar plea for help in this forum.

Inexplicably the problem abruptly solved itself.

I still don't know what occurred, but I'm able again to send photos via PSE6.

I guess my advice is to wait it out . . . and wonder.

My thanks for your response CFB.

You actually made me feel good enough to go back and try again. I'm sad to say, it still does not work. It has now been more than two weeks since the problem first occured, and I'm afraid it will not go away, and stay away, without a little help from Adobe. They need to recognize that they have a server problem!

My thanks again to all of you for your responses, let's all hope that Adobe responds.

I am having that same error message - - and I haven't even been asked for that long verification code. Did anyone ever figure it out?

Hope to hear back from someone. I loved this feature when it worked.

Mine started working again, it was out for about 3 weeks. I never did find out what was causing it. The computer Gods thought I had suffered enough. I will make sure to give better offerings to the altar of Photoshop in the future. Blood, Sweat and Tears is not enough.

Thanks for your responses.

Chasphoto: Mine starting working today too. For a couple of hours. Now it isn't working again. How about your's?

Lindaj: Did the other site that said it was a server problem say that Adobe is addressing the problem?

Deb C mine is working still, but I'm going to not try to depend on it so much. It's seems if it is a server that it can be fixed. I didn't even get a return e-mail from them when I asked about the problem.

According to the Adobe forum they are aware of the problem and the fact that it is intermittent. Whether that means they are fixing it.....

Also having "Photo Mail" problems.I received the silly message for a while but that has stopped now. When I send 'photos. via. adobe email, all is well with either adobe email service or outlook express.
When I send via photo mail in either outlook express or adobe email, the mail goes somewhere never to be seen again. I have sent many to myself using different email addresses but the messages with 'photos. are never received and they are never returned.
I tried to contact Adobe but found their site unhelpful and of course they cannot be reached my email!.

Brian, thanks for your response.

Based on all the posts and conversations with other Elements users -THIS IS AN ADOBE PROBLEM! For some reason, yet to be determined, Adobe elects to ignore repeated requests for a correction, or at least an explanation of what is happening.

I truly love Adobe software, but I do not appreciate being ignored by them. In view of the fact that Elements 7.0 and the new CS are geared heavily toward web activity, I would be very reluctant to purchase either product until they have resolved this simple issue.

For the first time in weeks, I was able to use the Adobe photo mail option. I noticed quite a few people were having problems using it too. Hopefully it is fixed?!?!?!? :)

Kathy, you're right, it is finally fixed!

My sincere thanks to Adobe for correcting the problem, and my sincere thanks to all of you for your comments. I would like to think that our collective comments were helpful in motivating Adobe to action.

Again, my sincere thanks to all of you.
