I heard or read that Adobe is going to bring out PSE 7.0 in the near future. Does anyone have knowledge of this being true or is it simply a rumor? Carl

Well if you look around the internet you'll find that there are some books about the latest version of Photoshop Elements due to be released September 1st. Read into that what you will :)

Wow, that was fast! Think it's because people haven't been fully satisfied with 6 so maybe they'll fix the problems? One could only hope. I've only heard about the problems because I switched to CS3 when the price was right.

Tony, I googled, and can't find anything about a release of a new version book being released. Maybe I don't know how to google well enough.

The last several Windows versions of PSE have been released in the fall, the traditonal time to get products out before the Christmas season. PSE 6 was released late September 2007. Adobe was soliciting pre-release testers for PSE 7 end of May, so it seems likely that PSE 7 is on track to be released sometime this fall.

Here are some comments from a beta tester (probably violating the terms of Adobe's non-disclosure agreement):

Yes, he is! I dare say if it's seen by anyone from Adobe he'll be getting a sharp rap across the knuckles - legally speaking.

Ummm ...

Now that is naughty !!.

All testers should know that they have to have sealed lips.

I don't think he realises he's under an NDA!

Violating an NDA is pretty bad; I'm sure he'll hear from Adobe about that.

It is no rumor as I spoke with adobe sales yesterday about this. They said they did not know however they would call me as soon as they were told anything. Guess what-they they called back this AM and now I have my copy on pre-order. $79.95 plus tax for the upgrade, but no manual comes with it. Time to go to the book store. The preview videos are great, Carl

Well the link is now invalid so I dare say he has been "rapped" across the knuckles by Adobe. :D
