Hi. Just got my new Dell laptop and it is awesome. So nice to have my own computer dedicated to my photos and Premiere work. Love it. There is one issue. When I go into Editor and then go to open a file, it take FOREVER to open in the Editor. I have tried to close things (wireless connection, security software, etc) down but it does not seem to help. Anybody have any ideas. Everything else works fine and very fast.
Thanks

Thanks. Not the program itself. Just when it goes to open a file.

OK I have a Dell xps m1530 laptop and share your grief. A known problem with Vista and the editor is the print network. If you are setup to print over a network the editor freaks. You can fix this by adding a local printer- (fool the laptop into thinking you have a printer connected directly to it)- in the add print dialog box of windows vista and selecting that as your printer while you are using elements. It does not matter that you don't have that printer installed pick anyone. The computer just needs to think that it has a local printer installed not a network printer.
I know it sounds strange-trust me it works. Oh don't forget to select the network printer again once you are done editing.

Thanks. I actually noticed last night that when I turned off my network everything was lightening fast. But I will take your advice. Thanks.

Hey epaul. Thanks for the tip. Turned off the network printer and it's smooth sailing. Thanks again.
