Is there a way to use PSE 6 as a photo viewer without having to copy or "get photos" on to the hard drive? As in viewing images off a thumbdrive in the organizer, and being able to add taggs and then simply remove the thumbdrive without ever having to copy images to the C drive.

Also, Can you work off an external drive? As in PSE6 on the C drive and all images on an external drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not sure that PE6 can do what you are asking. Besides, it would be more trouble than it's worth - there are other, easier-to-use programs that will view images. Picasa from google, XNView, IrfanView (view thumbnails)... Try one of those - they are are freeware.

You can use PSE6 on your hard drive (c:) and store/pull your pictures from an external hard drive. I have PSE6 installed on my desktop c: drive, but have all of my pics on an external hard drive (because I have so many pics that it makes my PC very slow). When I "browse" my files to open an image I simply select the drive that my external drive uses (K: in my case). If you can't find K: (or the letter you drive uses) listed, you can select "My computer" and find it there. So far, I haven't had any problems doing it this way.
