I recently upgraded from PSE2 to PSE3. The support for web galleries seems much worse in PSE3. In particular, I'd like to customize the gallery in 3 ways, all of which were easily done in PSE2:
1) custom thumnail size
2) custom image size
3) # rows and columns on top page
In PSE3, it seems we can only specify one of a few presets (small, medium, large, x-large), but we can't set a custom size for (1) and (2). (3) is completely unavailable now.
I hunted for configuration files to make modifications under the hood, but I could find nothing. I fear these new hardwires are compiled directly into the code. Can this huge step backward from PSE2 be true? If I could redefine "large" to be a number of pixels I specify, that would be OK.
I'd appreciate any help you have to offer. Thanks!

I suspect Adobe is just listening to their customer base. The software they have developed for web work is aimed at entry level users. It is very good at that job. If you are a more advanced user you may be much happier with more sophisticated products. There are a number of good ones out there from free to very expensive. I tend to use one called PhotoThumb http://www.photothumb.com/ and it is very easy to use. I use it for my own photo pages and my Challenge pages it is fast , reliable and configurable.

Thanks to both of you for the quick replies. Prior to PSE2, I used something similar to photothumb. However, PSE2 was fairly powerful and certainly convenient so I switched. Grant's suspicion makes sense, but I am amazed adobe would reduce functionality in an upgrade! Unfortunately, I tried calling adobe and my only option is to pay $39 to answer this question. The help web pages were useless.

I am still hoping there is a way to make PSE3 at least as good as PDE2.
