I am trying to make a pin in PSE6, the pin is ready, but now I want to make a .png that when I place it on top of a paper or a fabric it looks like it is pinned through.
Not just that it goes in and comes out, but also that the bit of paper/fabrik where the pin runs under looks like the pin is under it.
All of this effect i want to achieve with this single pin .png, anybody have a tip on how to get this look??

moon7x4,
You could probably include a bit of white "shadow" along one side of the pin's submerged path, and a bit of dark shadow along the other. This might give the impression that the fabric is slightly raised along that path.
However, if the fabric shows any kind of texture or pattern, it will be obvious that the fabric is not actually raised over the pin.
I don't know how you could do a true, realistic job without addressing the distortion of fabric grain that would happen over a real pin.
Additionally, you will be limited to using this pin graphic in one orientation respective to the light, otherwise your shadows will not be cast in the correct direction.

edit:
Here is a quick demonstration. I roughed-out a pin shape, then made a gap in it where it will be submerged in the fabric. I then made a faint white and a faint black shadow, each of them off-center from the main axis a bit. I just eyeballed the opacities and placement.
You can see how it looks on various background colors. I've included a shot against transparency so you can see what the graphic looks like without a background.

To get the fabric distortion, you could use the pin as a displacement map:
-- put a copy of the pin layer in a new file (pin on white background)
-- desaturate the pin (make it black and white)
-- use gaussian blur to add a little blur
-- now go back to your cloth image and go to Distort>Displace and use the blurred, B&W pin file as your map

Hi ..
By the time you have added a pin to your scrapbook page then you may not need to distort the paper ... sometimes it looks OK just as it is :)
