I am a big fan of filters and generally use selections or masking when applying them. However, with these NIK filters there is no need to create a selection or mask. Simply brush them on wherever you want the filter effect to be applied. NIK sells some modestly expensive filter packages, but offers 4 useful filters at no charge. If you download the set, read the User Guide pdf file as they are accessed and work a little differently than the regular filters you may be familiar with, but they are actually quite easy to use and apply. Takes about a minute or so to figure it all out. Supposedly they work in Paint Shop Pro as well, though I haven't tried them in PSP. I use Elements 4.0.
