Hi all
I have read that it is possible to install some PS action files (.atn) in PSE6. I know some will work and others won't. I have an action file I would like to see if it works, but I do not know how to go about installing it for PSE6 for Mac. Can anyone offer any guidance here?
TIA!!

To install an action file in PSE6 on a mac, you will need to create a .png file(just copy one of the others and rename it with the exact title of the action file. Copy and paste both of them into the following path HardDrive>library>application support>adobe>photoshop elements>6.0>photo creations>photo effects. Shut down and restart PSE6, click on effects after has rebuilt and show all. Should see it and take for a test drive to see if will work in PSE. If don't see it will need to manually rebuild metadata base. Follow the same path but instead of choosing photo creations, choose locale>en_US>click on metadata base and add the word OLD to it. Close and restart elements. If want the action to show under it's own category would have to write an xmf file for. Most people just show all.

Thanks for the step by step. I got it to show up in PSE6 but nothing happens. Can I somehow send you the .atn file to see if you can get it to work?
Thanks!

If it shows but nothing happens when apply it to an image, that means the action uses features that aren't available in elements. This is the point at which I utilize that trash can next to the apply button to get rid of the useless action.
