View Full Version : Line Around Building After Replacing Sky

I just finished replacing the sky in an RAW image of the Empire State building. The image is black and white.

After I replaced the sky, I noticed that there is an outline of the building about 1 pixel thick. The building is dark, the sky is a little lighter than the building, but the outline is nearly white.

My question is, how can I get rid of this outline?

Thanks,

Mark

If your sky is on a separate layer could try using move or transform to enlarge sky enough to overlap buildings, then with either eraser or soft brush on mask and low opacity work to blend in. If starting over, the answer is to feather your selection before replacing sky so have a softer transition.

If you are using a mask to replace your sky you can apply a small blur to the mask...say 0.6 to 1 pixel....Then apply a levels adjustment to the mask.

Experiment with the sliders... you can expand the mask...shrink the mask... sharpen the edges or soften the edges or a combination of the above.
