View Full Version : Using the undo history

Hi everyone,

Is is possible to use the Undo History either to repeat or delete earlier commands?

For example, let's say that I have, for example, 25 commands in the Undo History. Now let's say that I want to delete command #7 (just to pick an arbitrary number), but that I want to leave all the following commands just as they were. Hence, command #8 will now become #7, and #9 will become #8, and so on until #25 becomes #24.

Alternatively, let's say that I want to duplicate a command earlier in the stack. In this case, I want to do command #7 twice, and now all the command numbers will increment.

So, please, can I use the Undo History to accomplish this?

Thank you.

Stanley

Hi Stanley

Short and long answer ..no.
All you can do is go back to that step and start over from there.
Not a bad idea though.:)

As Gary notes, that cannot be done in Elements (not sure about full version Photoshop). It is a major weakness in Elements and one of the features I miss most from Paint Shop Pro where selective undos and redos of editing steps are easily brought into play. Perhaps PSE 7?

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for your replies.

Now, at least, I know that it cannot be done.
