HI there...I just ordered a super laptop that I plan to just use for my photoshop projects and I was wondering how do I safely copy my organizer that is on my desktop and install PSE on my laptop. I would really like to keep my organizer intact althought there are some things that I would like to delete/clean up as well.. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated -

Option 1: From desktop, do a File->Backup Catalog (to CD, DVD or external hard drive). Choose full backup. Then install PSE5 on your new laptop, then do a File->Restore Catalog.
Option 2: Backup up everything manually. This includes all photos and your catalog (usually, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Catalogs\my catalog.psa, but it is possible that you have chosen a different file name or folder). Then, install PSE5 on your new laptop, move the photos back to the EXACT SAME FOLDER with the EXACT SAME FILE NAMES that existed on your desktop, move the catalog back to anywhere (although the exact same place it was in before is a good idea), and you should be able to open your catalog from File->Catalog->Open.
I usually advise option 1, as that way PSE takes care of everything that needs to be done. Option 2 will work fine, but you have to take care of all the details.
