:(
Hi, I am a new iMac user and new to PSE. My "Picutre Package" and "Contact Sheet" don't highlight as options for printing. Is this the program or my printer?
In the Palette the only thumbnails that display are for the Layer Styles, nothing displays for the Filters or Effects. I know I had them at one time...any ideas....should I just re-install?
Thanks,
Jody

Jody,
First thing to do is check which mode you are in .... and make sure you are in RGB or Greyscale. If you are then I suggest that you try deleting the prefs file:
To do that close down Elements then click on the start up icon and quickly hold down the Apple, Alt and Shift keys. Continue to hold down all three keys until you get a screen asking if you want to delete Settings ... just say Yes.
Try those, look at your Filters again and then let me know if they are there now.

Fixed!
Thanks Wendy for the suggestions. Unfortunatley they did not work so I just ended up re-installing the program...now those options are there. Now, maybe I won't be so confused trying to master this program!

Jody,
Just glad to hear that a re-install solved it :D
How are you getting on with the iMac?

Wendy,
It took a while to get used to Mac, I find that things are not as user friendly as Windows; I need the "for Dummies Version", very basic. Now I am comfortable with the Mac but I am so frustrated with the Photoshop Elements 3. I have 3 books on PSE which have helped a lot. I am not able to create Photo Montages yet which is what I really want to do. I have tried some of the video tutorials at this site and have only partially successful...(i.e. the one where you put a frame around the leaf....can't get the mask part to turn red). I am either missing some basic fundamental information or the program is not working right....you know it can't possibly be the operator! So, my frustration remains high with this program. The other thing is that since I am new to this I wouldn't know if it is working right or not.!
Thanks,
Jody

Jody,
Don't worry about it you will get the hang of using it ... in a few months time you will be answering questions for others :)
Now about your montages ... what type of montages are you trying to do. If you can find a similar one on the internet just post a link to it and I will talk you through doing it ....
