about installing both PSE 5 & PSE 6 on the same pc.

I would like to try PSE 6. But during the installation I got a message stating that I already had PSE 5 on the pc. I did not have to uninstall 5, but I could only use one version at a time. I'm not sure what that means. Does it mean that I can't use 5 while 6 is installed or that just one instance of PSE can run at a time?

Thanks for your help

You can only run one version at a time. In other words, if you run 6.0, you cannot run 5.0 simultaneously, and vice versa.

After using 6 I can exit the program and then open up 5 and use it, is that correct? I do not have to uninstall 6 to run 5. Thanks, I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I want to be able to go right back to 5 if I don't like 6

Nancy,
you're right, I have both and you can use one, close it and then open the other.

Its only on a Mac that you can have more than one version open at a time :)

I really don't know why it works on the Mac and not on Windows

Its all in how the OS handles running files and the processes behind the programs. MAC is a lot closer to Unix than Windows and shares a lot of the same operating characteristics, which allows that sort of thing.

Hi Gene ...

The funny thing is that you can have all the versions open at the same time but with PSE3 & PSE4 you have to open them in the right order or they won't both open :D:D
