I've done this before but now I can't figure it out for the life of me. I bought some effects and actions and want to install them on my computer. I have PSE6 and use a Mac. I tried to buy Add-O-Matic but it is not Mac compatible. I tried doing a search here from my own user name but nothing from this subject came up. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I was told to put both the .atn and .png in Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Photo Creations\Photo Effects. But my .xml files are there. I do know I need to create an .xml file for each action. So I can do that but I need to know where to put the .atn and .png files.

I did a search to find where my other .atn and .png files are which is:

mycomputer-Library-Mail Downloads-there is a folder here with my name-then there are folders all starting with PhotoBlast and then the .atn and .png files that I found are here. Now I have lots of other .atn and .png files but I can not get them to show up on a search of my hard drive although they are definitely in PSE6 when I open it. I have a new computer which I went from an old Mac (not Leoplard) and transferred data to this new computer with Leopard. When I bought actions before this area where I was putting these files was different and I don't know what to do now.

Thanks all.

Okay I figured out that my downloaded action had an .atn file and a .psd file. I took the .psd file into an old version of PSE and resaved it as a .png file. I did the rest of the normal stuff and reopened PSE6. The new action was there but underneath it was named the name of another action which was just before it. Example: bbconcave (which is the real bbconcave action) followed by bbconcave (which is really my new Beautiful Sepia action which has the right image). What's up with that?

I finally figured it out. Wow, is it a long process to have Mac Leopard and PSE6.

JDAA, It's not just a Mac issue, it's that Adobe changed the way Elements installs actions in version 6 and when we (even Windows users) try to install actions written for older versions of PSE, we have to make modifications. Glad you were able to work it out.
