Hello,

I discovered this site after watching the video podcasts of the Elements Killer Tips over on I-Tunes.
I'm looking forward to learning how to use the PSE 6 software, even though it looks like there's quite a learning curve to get around.
Right now I shoot with a "point and shoot" digital camera and all my pictures are jpegs and are in my I-photo library. I hope that they are usable.
I have also scanned several hundred family picture prints and would like to improve some of them beyond what adjustments that I-photo could provide. :(

It look's like a friendly, helpful site that you have here and looking forward to being a part of it. :)

Welcome aboard, Scott. There is a wealth of information here. And don't worry if you have a question that you think sounds "stupid", trust me - it's been asked before :D (probably by me!)

Have a good look around and check out folks galleries, a lot can be learned there too.

Hi Bill, Julie, Tina, Frank and Val. Thank you for the warm welcome!
As of today, I don't have PSE installed on my computer, but it's being shipped as I type this.
It looks kind of intimidating to learn but I'm ready to take it on.
I've seen some of the before and after pictures on this site and wow  I hope to be able to do that some day!

Do you have a preferred way to post pictures on this site?
I have a photobucket account but willing to use whatever is best for this site.

Scott :)

Hi Scott ..

... and welcome to the Village :)

A lot of us use Pixentral to show our images as there is an option to show a clickable thumbnail in the thread ... its better that way as larger images take a while a load and that affects our members who are on dial up.

There is also a Gallery here ... or just add a link to the image in Smugmug :)

Seriously, welcome aboard! It does seem quite intimidating at first but you will be amazed at how quickly you learn and you will soon wonder what you ever did before you purchased Elements.
You might want to check your local library for some books on Elements (mine carries several) and another thing I would suggest is subscribing to this site. It is the best money I have ever spent. Lots of video and written tuts.
And do take the comments about this forum being addictive! As you already noticed, this is a friendly bunch of people and you will find the learning fun.
Enjoy,

Fernan

Hello Scott, as you can tell by the responses you have received already, this place ROCKS!

So come and rock with us regularly. The challenges are a great way to learn, and also becoming a subscriber is probably the best favour you can do yourself.
