I was wondering if anyone has a technique for blending faces? Example a dog body with a rabbit face? Or a human face with a dog's nose?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Sherrie,
There are a couple of different things here ... so first dog nose onto human face:
The best way to do this is using a layer mask ... although it is possible using a soft eraser.
You need to do is make a rough selection of the new "nose" copy it into the face image and add a mask to the nose layer. Select a soft brush, lower the opacity of it ... and make sure that the mask is active. (Just click on it it the layers palette) ... now make a soft transition between the nose and the face by painting it away ... if you do too much then switch to white and you will be able to paint it back in again.
Rabbit face onto a dogs body ...
Make a selection of the Rabbit face and copy it into the Dog image .. use the move tool to resize the face and put it into position. You may need to adjust the colour to match it, then add a mask and make the transition smooth (just as you did before). You may also need to remove poarts of the dogs head thast still show ... use the clone tool to do that ..
Hope this helps :)

In my very limited experience of trying to do this I've found the first problem is getting the heads and bodies to match up. Problem is that the shapes are very different and, in the one I was trying (putting a sheep's head onto my brother-in-law  ) I had to do a lot of jiggling with the liquify warp tool to get the images to line up so I could start to blend them. Also tried free transform but using liquify on a head is much more fun and lets you really change the head shapes around to fit the bodies.

Thanks Wendy, but I can't take the credit for that- it came right from Brand X, in fact it's one of Scott's images from Down and Dirty Tricks...
I do have a question though-the picture looks ok-particularly for a first try, but it still looks like the white tiger face was sort of plopped on. I saw how the painting was blending, but it seemed kind of linear. I did go back and forth with a bunch of different opacities...did I miss something?
Thanks!

Carol ..
Did you use a mask and then paint on it with a soft low opacity brush?
I tend to fade it from quite a way in not just on the edge ... that tends to give a more realistic transition :)

Maybe I should pick a new victim! One of my own kids for a change. Hubby is home today because of Rememberance day so not sure how much work I'll be doing. We'll be leaving shortly for the ceremony and I'll be taking my camera.
