Newbie Needs help with resizing

I'm brand new to PE 6 and simply wan tto resize a jpeg image from 600 x 400 pixels to 300 x 200 pixels. I tried the resize image commands and they seem to be doing the resizing, but when I save the new image, i get the same original sized picture. ????

After resizing save with a different name. After saving you may still have the original on the screen and the resized image was saved to another location.
After saving with a different name, find that new name document and open it and you will find it's been sized to your wishes.
