Torn paper from the back

Hello all. This is my first post. I am looking forward to learning from everyone here.
Here is what I'm trying to do. Please don't laugh...lol. If one can imagine, I'd like to make a BG of a sheet of sheet music being torn from the backside of it. In other words, think of something coming through the sheet of paper from the back, like maybe a baseball or something. Then the paper would have a circular shaped round tear coming towards the viewer. Make sense? Am I asking too much here?....:p

One of Janee's tutorials sounds like it might be what you're looking for. It's a Photoshop tutorial but appears to be doable in Elements.

It may not be a good one to start out with, though, if you are just learning Elements. It requires a layer mask which is not included with Elements. There are a couple of add-ons you can get to give Elements masking capability. The most popular one here is Grant's tools, which is free. I remember a football player coming through the paper - wasnt it Christell's. I did one of a fire engine coming through fire. Perhaps this is what Texanguy is looking for. Does someone have info on the football photo. Jean

Bayla, Can't believe you found that thread. I think it was maybe the 1st thread I posted a question about. Below is my son, the football player.

This one really gave me a headache to try to create because I didn't know what I was doing. I created this as I went so I didn't follow a tutorial but knew what I wanted it to look like.
The skier bursting through might be what texanguy would be able to follow.
