I read a thread that said the newsletter would end of 2007 or early 2008 , but they still offer it ? Since I've never read the newsletter I'm unsure if I would know what I'm missing or not. The tutorials are the ' meat and potatoes ' of what I'm looking for here. I found this site by accident and it seems like a good way to learn.

Tony,
If you subscribe you will get a paper newsletter 8 times per year, usually about 30 pages of tutorials, tips, and how-tos. It will take 8 to 10 weeks to get the first one. After subscribing you will be able to access the subscribers only page that has about 200 video tutorials and almost as many written tutorials. I've yet to hear of anyone disappointed about subscribing..

Hi Tony,
My name is Rick LePage, the editor of the Photoshop Elements Techniques newsletter. We recently purchased the newsletter from the company that originally published it, and have no plans to stop. We will continue to offer step-by-step tutorials, features and more, both in print and on the Web site. We just finished our third issue, and have uploaded a number of videos and tutorials in the last couple of months.
While we don't currently offer any free 'samples' of the newsletter, if you would like to get an idea of what the printed version is like, you can download a PDF version of one of the newsletters for only $5.
photoshopelementsuser.com/pastissues/ (http://app.photoshopelementsuser.com/pastissues/)
There's also a Flash-based Web page that shows a sample issue. It's breezy and content-free :), but it does convey what you get with each issue.
photoshopelementsuser.com/newsletter/ (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/newsletter/)
We're toying with a couple of ideas to let people know about all the great stuff found in the newsletter and online, but we don't have anything concrete as yet. Stay tuned.
And, as you might have already surmised, this community is a great - and free - place to get and share ideas. You might find that this is all you need; many people do.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Rick LePage

Ditto and ditto-joining PET will move you from beginner to proficient over time. Worth every penny of the subscription! And ditto also to the forum-there are amazingly talented people here who share what they know gladly.
Welcome:)

Subscribing is worth every penny you will spend. You will have your newsletters to look back at when you are learning the tutorials. You can even download the photos used in some of the tutorials to work on so that you can see the same outcome as those in the newsletter.
One danger!!! we do party when each newsletter comes out. The first to get the newsletter starts the party and the rest of us wait with anticipation for ours to get here. So if you do not like to have fun, if you do not like printed tips and tutorials don't subscribe. If you want to learn and have fun at the same time join in .

terri,
I am sorry you have not yet received issue 5-2. If I were you I would either email them again, or you can call them. The phone number is not an 800 number so it is not free, but I know they will want to help you out.
Phone: 503-968-1813
I got this number from the home page (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/index.php) and scrolling to the bottom then clicking on Contact Information (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/contact.php).
You can also email them from this page.

You can also send me a private message, and I'll look into it. We regularly mail out 'missing issues' and I keep the list of what issues got mailed when and where.
We're happy to help - we know people like their issues!
Best,
Rick

Hi Terri ..
The newsletters are sent out in a plastic wrapper and sometimes they stick together (several members have reported getting extra issues this way) ... so maybe that is what happened to yours ..
