I am using Elements 5. Customer service wanted $40 to 'possibly' figure out the problem! I'm glad I found you guys!
I make an edit, go into my pictures to make a cd and the edits are not saved. Photoshop Elements is showing the edit took place, but it doesn't save on the hard drive (I'm doing "save as", "replace file", etc). Any ideas?!?!? I'm at a loss.....

refresh the folder - just press <F5>, or right-click & choose "Refresh" - could that be it?

Questions:
"I make an edit, go into my pictures to make a CD" — do you mean that after you save the edit from the PSE Editor, you go into Windows Explorer in the folder named "My Pictures" and try to make a CD using Windows CD tools?
"Photoshop Elements is showing the edit took place, but it doesn't save on the hard drive" — do you mean that in the PSE Organizer, you see the edited photo?
If the answer to both of my questions is "Yes", I would have to assume that the edited file is saved to a different directory. To find out where it was saved, right-click on the photo in the Organizer and select Show Properties.
Or, another way to create your CD from PSE is to select the photos you want in the PSE Organizer, select File->Export->As New Files and then PSE will make copies of all the selected photos to a temporary location that you specify. From there, its easy to make the CD as the only photos in that temporary location are the ones you selected.

Thanks both of you for your suggestions. The F5 didn't do anything - but did indeed saveth e file, it was just missing.
Paige, I was able to find the location all of the pictures were stored in by showing the properties. Thanks a million because I was freaking out with 500+ wedding pictures! I have yet to try and make a CD using photoshop, but that will be next on my list.
I love this forum - thanks so much!
