I just upgraded to PSE6 and I'm not real thrilled at all. I'm sure one of my gripes can be solved easily....I hope. In PSE6 there is no count to how many images you have open like it does in 3 and 5. Does anyone know how to make it show the number of open files in the Photo Bin?

I haven't seen anything like that. There are a lot of things different in v6 from v5, et al., and you may run across them when you least expect it! A search here will put you in the know about quirks and downright don't-likes...especially the darker color. I really like it. But others older eyes with uncalibrated monitors find it hard to read.
The main thing I found that was a major difference was you run into difficulties if you pull something up from the photo bin to the work space. That changes the layer type of the item. There are several current threads here that address that.

Thanks efarnstrom. I did do a search on the forum about this and didn't find anything. Of course there is so much out there about v6. I'm not crazy about the photo bin thing because I like to know how many "more" photos I have left to edit before I get to go to bed! :(
I'll keep searching unless someone else knows the answer to this one.
Thanks!

Charlya, I'll admit to never having noticed that feature in PSE5, and have long sinced removed the version from the computer. Where/how did it display a count of the number of open images in the Bin?
Just curious, although I never have more than a handful of images open at one time, then only for compositing, and once they have been moved onto the target image I close them so as to not overburden my poor ole' laptop.
Thanks
Jeff

Charlya, the Bin "count" feature in PSE5, I will admit, was nice. I am assuming that is what you are referring to. With PSE6 a number of changes evolved that many are not fond of. With the Photo Bin "count" feature gone, one now has to look at the "Open Files" to see what is "physically" in the bin. So in short, the "count" is gone.:(
FWIW, I do not miss the "count" feature, as I tend to operate much as Jeff described above.
