View Full Version : Layerstyles list partially missing

I hope someone can help with this.
When I go to my Layer Styles list, the 'A' names and some of the 'B' names have disappeared from the list even though they have been fine for months. The styles are spread around the "Show all" styles but the list names won't show. They are present in the programme files and the metadata files so the information is there, as are the xml files. I have tried to re-install them but it makes no difference. I have deleted the mediadatabase.db3 and rebuilt it - several times - to no avail. I have also done a repair of my PSE6 files. At one stage they were present as soon as I re-opened the programme, but they disappeared in seconds and nothing I do is helping.
Does anyone know how I can fix this as I have dozens of layer styles and searching through the individual styles is very time consuming.
I'm using Windows Vista.

Hi Maggie ...

I saw your query at Scrappers and left you a reply there ... here it is:

I'm just wondering how many styles you have installed ??

... if you have a lot then maybe Elements can't show them all.

Also have you tried deleting the prefs ??

Hi Wendy, I wondered about the number, but they were working fine until today, so I'm not sure what's going on.
What do you mean by 'deleting prefs'?

The other thing is that I thought I might try deleting the styles I don't use often but am not sure how to go about it. Is it just the reverse of installing?
