View Full Version : opening Organizer (Bridge) and Editor at same time

I'm trying to make a slide show of some of my photos directly from the organizer (which for me as a MAC user is called Bridge). I watched a video which gave instructions to highlight photos in the organizer and then in Editor go to CREATE. I can't seem to get both the Editor and Bridge (Organizer) open at the same time. On the right side I have a preview panel and metadata information underneath and don't know if there's a way of moving them to get the Edit, Create and Share buttons. It may be something very simple I'm not doing or maybe something to do with the fact I'm a MAC user.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Sue ...
The Slide show in Bridge is pretty basic (the instructions you are reading sound like they are for the Organiser which is totally different to Bridge )
A slide show in Bridge is simply select the images you want in the slide show (That is in the Bridge Window not in the Editor ... just Shift click to select) and then do View>Slideshow but that gives you a very basic slideshow
A much better way of doing it is to use iPhoto ...
Just create a new folder in iPhoto
Move the photos into it
Then do Share>Send to iDVD
Once there you can add themes, music and much much more :)
Once you are finished you can save it and play it as it is ... or burn it to DVD and play it on your DVD player or on the Mac :)

Thanks Wendy,
I have always used iPhoto for slide shows, but the last lot of photos I took were all in RAW so I have only loaded them into Photoshop not iPhoto. My plan was to wait until I'd worked on them in camera raw and then export them into iPhoto. I don't think i-photo deals with the RAW format. What would you advise? (at present I only have iPhoto 6-am considering upgrading)
Thanks again -you always respond so quickly and clearly!

Hi Sue ...
I would simply do some jpgs from the Raw files and use those to make your slideshows ... the shows you can do in iDVD are fantastic but I don't think that RAW files would work in them :)

PS .. iPhoto slideshows are OK but iDVD ones are amazing :)

I have a mac and have iphoto 08, that handles RAW files, can't comment on your version I'm afraid.

Hi ..
iPhoto 08 does indeed handle Raw Files ... but I don't think that they really would be good in a slide show and also I am not sure that iDVD will be able to use them.
So I would suggest saving the images as jpgs and taking the slideshow from there :)
