Hi All,

If I use Process Multiple Files under Editor to convert my RAW files to JPEG, will it convert the RAW files using the edits I made to them? Thanks.

That is a good question and a good point. Yes, it will.

When editing (adjusting) RAW images with ACR and saving the result by clicking >Done, a sidecar XMP file is created, which records the changes. If you process multiple files from a folder, which contains both RAW and the XMP files, the conversion will use the XMP file settings.

Be sure to leave ACR in 8bits/Channel mode.

Converting all the raw files to jpg? Isn't that defeating the major reason for shooting raw in the first place? Why not keep the raw file so in the future you can do additional manipulation of the raw data on a new jpg file; if you choose to do so? Carl

Carl, the OP did not say he was going to delete the raw files and if he is only going to make raw adjustments it is a good way to process them rather than sit there adjusting and opening each one indivdualy and then saving as a jpeg. Much easier to make your adjustment without opening and batch process later and go and have a cup of tea/coffee. :)

Can this procedure be accomplished in PSE 5.0 as well as Adobe Camera Raw (Raw)? If so will you explain the steps to do so? Thank you. Carl

I wanted to convert to JPEG so I could email pics to friends and family individually. Hey, I found the export function in the Organizer which seems to do the same things as process multiple files in the editor section. Will export do the same thing? Any drawbacks?
