Where do I find the Live Docs they keep saying to click on for more help. I have never found it to click on in the first place.
I am so frustrated with Photoshop Element 6 in that nothing works for me.
I even bought the Philip Andrews book, but it is all so advanced, and certainly not for beginners like me.

Hi Dot-
Not sure what you mean by Live Docs, and I am sorry you are so frustrated:confused:
PSE6 (all of them actually) have pretty steep learning curves and it takes a lot of patience. I promise you will get there if you stick with it-we all did...
As far as books go, for the very beginner-I would suggest you buy "Photoshop Elements 6-The Missing Manual" by Barbara Brundage. This one has everything you need to get started, and then some. If you are not a member here, I really suggest you join. You'll have TONS of tutorials, both video and written.
Hang in there-and ask as many questions as you need to!:)

Live Docs is just the online version of the help files - I've never found it particularly useful and when I just checked it was down for maintenance:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/photoshop_elements/
Much more useful I've found is the User Manual which should have been on your install disc or download (it's called pselements_6_help.pdf ). Or you can get it on'line here:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopElements/6.0/pselements_6_help.pdf
Like Carol though I would highly recommend the Barbara Brundage Missing Manual for PSE6 for getting over the initial learning frustration. Of course this forum and the subscriber videos/tutorials are also a great way to learn.

Thanks Tony! I've not opened Help since the first time and realized that it was pretty useless:)

I tried the disc that came with photoshop elements 6 and it says there is no User's Guide for it.
Have taken your suggestions to purchase the Photoshop Elements 6 - missing manual book by Barbara Brundage. Have high hopes of getting some help since I need to begin at ground zero. The reviews sounded great. Also found it at Amazon.com for a good price.
Thanks for all your suggestions.

You'll be happy I think-it's kind of like Dr. Spock for PSE:D
When you feel more comfortable with the basics you can move to the more technique-y stuff.
