How can I convert Canon CR2 RAW Images for editing in Camera RAW in Elements 6? Taken with Rebel XSi. Thanks.
Thanks to all for your comments...I downloaded the fix from Adobe and it works great with PE6.
Thanks again.

pick the RAW file in organiser and choose full edit. Make your adjustments in in the Adobe camera raw and click open image. you should be able to edit it from there.
You may need to update ACR to get the latest RAW formats.

Al - When I click on a Canon RAW file in the organizer and attempt to go to full edit I receive an error message and the image will not open. In fact where the RAW image should appear in the organizer there is a small rectangle with no image in it. When I shoot RAW and JPEG together I get the JPEG image in the organizer but only the blank rectanlge where the RAW image should be. Pretty new to RAW but trying to learn.
Thanks,
Jim

J, as AL said, you need to go online to Adobe and download then install the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw. Adobe has to continually reverse engineer the RAW formats put out (and continually modified by camera makers) so you need to upgrade ACR in order to ensure that your particular flavor of CR2 is processed.

Here's a link to the download page, which also contains detailed installation instructions:
ACR 4.4.1 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3894)

I know this is an older message - but Canon gave you some free software called Digital Photo Professional to edit your raw files. You can convert them from there.
