Well, I took the plunge and purchased PSE6 this weekend. How exciting! I've been using a different software package for a few years, but still consider myself pretty much a beginner. My other software blew up a few months ago. I could look at my photos but not edit them. Uninstalling and reinstalling (x3) didn't work, so I decided to buy new and start over.
I tried PSE3 a few years back, but found it far too intimidating and not at all intuitive. I was very disappointed. But I knew Photoshop was (and continues to be) the Gold Standard for photo manipulation, so when I knew I had to replace my software, I decided to take another look at PS.
What a pleasant surprise! While there is still quite the learning curve, I'm finding it much easier to get around this time. The improvements from PSE3 are wonderful. It seems much more intuitive now. I purchased two books to go along with it, and am glad I did. I'm also delighted to have found these forums. I've been browsing these forums during the times I haven't been playing with pictures. Seems like a wonderful, helpful, friendly and supportive community! Yay!
Anyway, I've been playing a bit this weekend and enjoying every minute. I'm looking forward to many many hours of great photo fun! And looking forward to chatting with all of you!
