I am trying to clone a section of my picture and the clone tool shows just a cross-hair, I can't resize it at all. Not but choosing a larger brush or using the ] bracket key or anything else I tried. I even did a reset tool and it is still just a cross hair. Please tell me how to get my Clone tool working again.

Check to see if you have your Caps Lock key on. That will make your brush tip into a crosshair.

Check if your cap lock is on. That is one gotcha that everyone has experienced at one time or another.
Hope that's what will fix it.
Oh, and welcome to the village.

Hi Diane, tied for time.
I guess so. That was a pretty close tie!

As soon as I saw the posts I started laughing, of course at one time I knew that hint but yesterday I completely forget to check my Caps lock, I probably went into shock when something didn't work right in the PSE 6 program. Thanks again everyone I will try to keep that in my brains book of knowledge but at this stage the book is getting tattered.

I think this is something that we have all done at some time or another ..
In fact in the early days I reinstalled Elements several times to "correct" this problem :o:o
I was so glad when I found out about the Caps lock :D:D

I have 'Caps Lock' set to beep when I switch it on or off. (This was a tip I picked up from Byron on this site) It doesn't stop me from accidentally hitting the key, but at least when i hear the beep it alerts me to the fact!

You can do that? Set it to beep when it is turned on/off?
Could someone tell me how, please, as that seems like a really good idea.

PJ,
In Windows XP it's Control Panel>Accessibility Options. On the keyboard tab look for the toggle key option and choose what will work for you.
And I'm pretty sure it was Tony, not Byron who gave me that tip. Sorry, Tony.:o
