What is the weekly deadline for contest?

I have been watching and entering the weekly contest for several months now. I was wondering what the deadline is for the weekly contest. Is it actually a weekly contest? Recently it seems that the gallery contest wasn’t updated for three weeks, and the most of time it appears that only the latest entries are ever considered. Most if not all of the winners are the ones found on the first page of the gallery, and rarely, if ever are ones that may have been posted earlier in the week that are on the second, or even third pages, winners. Do you have to post in this thread that you have an update to your gallery to be considered? I am just curious, because there seems to be a lot of inconsistency as to how and when this is done.:(

Tami, the judge for the IOW, had surgery. I guess it was a little harder than she expected it to be.

Are you referring to the official IOW as mentioned by Jo which is a contest for images posted in the gallery at www.photoshopelementuser.com (http://www.photoshopelementuser.com) (with a prize of a DVD) or the unofficial Tag IOW for images posted on the gallery at this site, where each week a different forum member makes their own personal choices? I ask because I notice that you currently only have images in a gallery here and not over at the PET site.

That explains the delay, and I too wish speedy recovery. I don’t frequent the forums too much, so I wasn't aware of the recent reason for the delay.

What about the deadline time? Is it Sunday at midnight for the next week? Do you need to post that there is a update to be considered? There just seems to be some inconsistency with what pics are eligible and which are not.

I am referring to the official. I just removed all my pics from the official, until I understand the rules. I had been posting to both forum and official galleries. In the forums gallery as least you can receive and give feedback, which I like.

You do not have to announce that you have added new photos - each image posted in the PET gallery is considered. I don't believe there is any official cutoff time, Tami picks up where she left off in making the previous choices. (The images are all numbered as they are posted and their numbers are contained in the URL for each). It used to be that Tami announced the winners in a post each Wednesday.

I suppose it is possible that things will change with the new ownership of the site, however. Maybe Tami will be around to advise...
