This is one of the two types of Squirrels we have in the UK.
The Grey is originally from the USA, the Red is our native Squirrel. Sad to say the grey carries a virus that kills the reds. It is now classified as a pest, it is being culled to reduce the numbers. The Red is now an endangered Species and protected by law. Frames from Jodi's styles.
The top left photo is a blend of the bottom left photo.
Hope you like it.

Love it, I knew you would do something!! Here is the comparison between the grey squirrels and the boomer. Dont know the scientific name for a boomer, that is just the local name. They do look similar, but definitely make different sounds and the boomer is much smaller.
Just had a thrill - a very large black bear sitting on the railing of our deck. Unfortunately she left very quickly before photo. She had a little cub with her. Hope they come back and pose.

One can always learn something new, so checked google.
The top photo is of an Eastern Grey Squirrel Sciurus carolinensis
and the other is a red squirrel Tamisciurus Hudsonicus; locally known as a 'boomer' - the name is thought to refer to the barks and chirps they make that are loud enough to be heard for miles.
The ears on your red squirrels are so unusual - well to the U.S. at least I think so but some Americans might correct me. Please do. Jean

Kev, another great montage. Squirrels are cute but very hungry!! It is always fun to turn on the computer and there is another montage from Kev. Seventeen years ago when we built our house our area was farmland. (This is not so anymore since we have every imaginable store and grocery store within 2 miles of our house!!) We have had chipmunks but no squirrels until this year which I believe (I could be wrong though!!) is because our trees were so young.
Jean, great shots and nice photos.

Jean,
pleased you like it.
Thanks for the photos and explanation. The ears on our Reds have long tufts which adds to their charm.

Mary Lou,
Glad you like it. The squirrels will come, we have greys anywhere there's a park or gardens with bird feeders.

Kev,
A change of subject, but, as always, the same great work. These critters are so much fun to watch--athletic acrobats and voracious eaters. Looking forward to the next montage.

Mary Lou, I think all your gray squirrels are up here in my trees. Want them back? They've been gnawing on my plastic adirondack chairs...
Kev - I've never seen a red squirrel before. They are very cool! We saw some black ones in Canada a couple of summers ago. Picture is not that great but you get the idea...
