Kev, that is the best "pet eye" tutorial I've seen. It worked on both my dog and cat. Thank you. :D

Carol,
thanks, it's one I came across quite a while ago. Have used it quite a lot.

Thanks for the tut! It worked well enough, but did make my dog look a little weird.
I just used the clone tool to take out the green eye in my dog. It worked, but took a bit longer.

Raivyn,
in what way did it make your dog look weird?

My dog's eyes aren't really black, they're a very dark brown. I felt the technique using the brush made him look weird. I think it would have worked if his eyes weren't such a predominant feature in the photo. I've posted photos of the original photo, the brush technique, and the clone tool that I used. I also posted a photo of my dog that thankfully didn't need any editing so you can see how his eyes really look.
I imagine if you have a pet that didn't have such dark eyes, you'd have to make adjustments to make the editing look more realistic.

Raivyn,
nice dog, You have to understand that it is the pupil which is being changed not the eye colour. To be honest I can't see much difference between your cloned result and the brush one. I tried the brush method on the one you say doesn't need touching and it made a noticeable difference. The main thing is that you use the method that you prefer.

Thanks for editing my dog photo, Kev. I still think it looks strange, mainly because my dog's pupils never look like that in real life. I've been staring at him all morning just to be sure. :)
He's a rhodesian ridgeback; and he just doesn't have large pupils. Even though its the pupil that is actually turning green, and not the iris, so in that photo his pupils really are large, it still didn't look right. Maybe too flat?
Anyways, I'm splitting hairs here. I can see that method would work; and it's much more efficient. Thanks again!

Raivyn,
with any photo of a pet, any method that will alleviate pet eye is a good thing. You just have to try the one you think best.
A Rhodesian Ridgeback, they are great dogs, aren't they?

You're right, Kev, ridgies are awesome dogs. I can't imagine not having my pair around; they're like my shadow.
But they'll hijack your bed if you aren't careful. ;)

Raivyn,
we don't have a dog but we have a cat who hijacks the bed.
