I have been really jealous of all of your neat bird shots - every time I take one it turns out blurry. I finally caught a Robin in our front yard and it actually turned out. I just bought my XSI about a month and a half ago and finally I am getting more comfortable using it (my 1st dSLR).

Wow - looks like a picture from a bird book! :) Very clear. I like the frame work, too.

Thanks Charles & Kev! I appreciate the kind words! Charles, you will love your new camera - I still have tons to learn, but am having a blast with my new toy!! Kev, what does your robin look like? Unfortunately, where I live I mostly get black birds & robins in my yard, some days I get lucky and see a finch or two!!

Hi Tammy,

You are Welcome. And yes I am enjoying my new camera!

One thing you may want to consider doing is ordering Canon Rebel XSi Crash Course DVD (http://michaelthementor.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=7&zenid=177494e505604febb2b35729eac02b3a) by Michael Andrews. You can view a short segment on his website to get the style he uses in teaching the camera. I just ordered my copy last night, but I know a couple people here have already ordered and received a copy and love it.

BE CAREFUL, do not order directly from his website as it is not (yet) secure. He is in the process of making it secure. If you want a copy scroll down to the bottom and click on Contact then send him an email. He will send you an email so you can order thru paypal which is very secure.

If you do order do me a favor and tell him Charles aka Inspeqtor sent ya :)
I won't get anything out of it, I just want him to know I am promoting his DVD :D

Charles,
I actually have been following your thread about his free classes - I finished the last video yesterday and was planning on ordering the dvd tomorrow - thanks for the advice on the paypal - I don't currently have an account there, but I will figure out how to do it tomorrow. I will definately mention your name! I learned a lot from Michael's free videos and am looking forward to the dvd - thanks for "discovering" it!!

Hi Tammy,

I am glad you enjoyed the classes. I am still going thru them. You are welcome for the tip on paypal. Being secure on the web when giving out personal information is a must!

Kev,

I really like your Robin! They are quite colorful :)

Thank you for showing us the difference in the Robin between the USA and the UK.

Tammy and Charles,
When the first settlers went to America they found it full of animals etc that they had never seen and to which they then gave names. When they saw your Robin they said it's a Robin, so that's what it is.
This is a story I read somewhere, it sounds feasible.
Kev.
