Oh, good! As usual, when I saw the baker's stall image (http://glimpsesthroughthemashrabeya.blogspot.com/) on your blog, I wondered how you'd done the effect. ;) I love the bleached look. I'll be back to play later! :)

Bayla...yours is so cute!
I'm still trying to find the right kind of image...I've tossed about 10 in a row...they don't look any different when I'm done than when I started. Hmmm...

Lisa, the bread looks delicious! I like the effect with it!
Toni, I like them both but I agree-I like the first one better also.
Bayla, she looks so cute! I really like the way you added the pink edges.
Thank you, Lisa. I always look forward, after a grueling day of babysitting two 3-yr-olds and a 5-yr-old, to coming home and relaxing with Elements and a new tutorial!

hmmm.... is anyone other than me experiencing problems opening the link to this tutorial? When I click on it, the page opens and I'm able to view it for a moment, but then the dreaded error box pops up with "Internet Explorer cannot open this website. Operation aborted." I even tried typing in the URL directly and I get the same error message.
Gee, guys... if you don't want me to play... just say so!:(

I think it might be a problem w/ the site - that happened to me yesterday morning, but then when I tried it again in the evening it worked fine.

Thanks, Tammy! I was starting to take it personally when everyone was posting great pictures and I couldn't even get on the tutorial site! ;) I'll try again later.

Kim,
I hope you are able to get the link to work, the link already given takes you to the tut on 1 page,
this link
http://www.freeonlineclasses.net/photoshop-tutorials/photo-effects/tinted-color-bleach.html
takes you to page 1 of 3 pages of the same tut.
I try to give the link for tut's all on 1 page as being easier to follow than needing lots of tabs/screens open.
I didn't have any problems with it when I found it, then yesterday when I posted, it wouldn't load once, then it was perfectly fine. So I'm not sure what is happening with intermittent faults.
hth,
Lisa
PS I just watched the Seinfeld back to front episode the right way round, it was late the other night when I watched, so I'd just watched the deleted scenes as an extra not the whole episode - so thanks for mentioning that :D

Kim, I copied the link and pasted into Firefox and then it worked great.
It's basically 2 steps...
1) Create a hue/sat adj layer..colorize. If you want sepia, use 25/25/0 as your settings, otherwise, play with colors.
2) Set the blend mode of the adj layer to SCREEN.
That's all there is to it!

sorry I am late commenting :o, I intended to do so, then ended up thinking I had already done so ......
Toni - I like both of those. I'm glad the timezone of my posting the challenge works out for you :).
The image of Chelsea is lovely!
Bayla - I can't decide between those, both are great. Very pretty edges too.
Martha - that makes for a lovely vintage look.
Seachelle - I like the lines in this image, and it does look like it has had a preset applied.
Tammy - a nice aged look to the bridge.
Bill - I had to look at this for a while to work it out (ie the perspective), it's great. The tones are really cool.
Val - a pretty scene and it suits the bleached look.
mks - love the tones you got.
Clara - works a treat on the lily, very delicate. The building looks fantastic, very atmospheric.
Kim - a lovely photo and I really like the effect on it.
Sepiana - a very pretty church and nicely vignetted.
Tony - the poppy is gorgeous, I can imagine a whole cornfield filled with them.
Kim - that is great and the grunge border definitely suits it.
Ellen - wow, that is magic! there's definitely something going on there :D
Marylou - yes, it can sometimes be tricky to find an image that suits the technique. And what happens sometimes to me is that I try a tut and it looks fine on the pics I try, then the next day I have the opposite happen and can't find anything I like. Hope you find some results you like better with week 33.
