OK - for the past 2.5 years, I've been working to finish up another MS degree (this one in Instructional Design & Technology). I had to complete an exit project (kind of like an applied thesis, with a literature review, etc.).

Among other things, I teach a beginning web design course, and a beginning web authoring software course. Both discuss photo editing in theory only, but no hands on. My applied project was to draft instructional materials (and videos) for a 4-unit course on using PSE 6 to create web page graphics (edit and resize photos, make navigation buttons, web banners, etc.)

After I defended my project, they collected $$ from me to turn my project into a hard-bound book for the university library, the college that awarded my degree, and...for me! It came in the mail today. Looks so cool!! Just had to jump up and down and share! Without the jump start in learning the software on this forum, this project would NEVER have happened - so thanks to everyone!!!

So the next time you are at the Western IL U library, look it up! :D

Val,

Congratulations are in order on your accomplishments! Way to go! Is your book a BUO, or can it be checked out? I'd love to read it (being a former IT graduate student myself).

Val,
That is ever so cool! Did you know they were going to make it into a book when you were writing it?

Hmm, now I'll have to pick your brain for some website design ideas!:D

Sherry and other well-wishers...thanks so much for the pat on the back!

When I was trying to decide on a project, the dept. chair gave me a couple of books (like this one) to look through. Somehow, in the pressure of deciding on a project, etc., it didn't really occur to me that they'd do that to mine, too! (Duh...:o)

When I finished my defense, my supervising prof sent me off to the "archival library" to make the printing/binding arrangments. That's when it sunk in.

I probably could have just shipped it off to Viovio and saved a few $$ :D:D

Val, Sorry about Mr. since you are a Ms. Sometimes names can be both & without a picture you never know. Now I will have to change my mindset of you as a Ms. not a Mr.
Thanks for letting me know.
