Be Creative Week #31
WARNING - This week’s technique may be addictive ………… :D
http://www.layersmagazine.com/having-fun-photoshop.html (http://www.layersmagazine.com/having-fun-photoshop.html)
just following the tut as far as ‘Are we having fun yet’
Notes:
When using Image>rotate …… for this tut you can just use those in the top part of the next fly out menu (they rotate the whole canvas, not just the layer, in many tut’s we need just the layer rotated which is the lower part of the menu).
Please try it out, have fun, and as always I look forward to seeing your images.

I started out with an ordinary image of frilly edged tulip, from the first part of the tut, I got this

and then I got this .....

I used PSE5 btw.
I'm going to be doing some more, as I love this effect, :D

This is the 2nd method, creating a reflection first. It looks like a push-me-pull-you from Dr. Doolittle got caught in a blender :D

And again, with a sunset (after creating, I duplicated the layer, set to multiply)
I cut the photo to a perfect square first.

Been a while since I orbed and my first attempt was rather modest - I tried throwing in a bit of last weeks creative. Couldn't possibly remember what I did but all I know is that it looks nothing like the original :). Have to try again with something a bit brighter.

I am having a problem with this one. I have tried a variety of images but I keep getting the same result. Can anybody throw any light on the reason I get the hard joining edge? Tried in CS3 and Elements 5, but the hard edge appeared in both.

Here's my Orb-thingy. The end result was pretty cool by itself but it took on a whole new slant once I flipped on my blacklight! (Watch out for the beaded curtain as you come in to view it.)

One more. This started life as a picture of a game but it finished up with some human qualities so I just had to embellish it :)

I started with a square flower photo, did the reflection image, and then did the 2 polar rectangular steps. The image was long and narrow so I enlarged the canvas and, using the Move tool, stretched out the picture to a square again.

Toni, I think the hard line is because you made the first filter rectangular to polar instead of polar to rectangular....

One more - actually a combination of this creative challenge and EZ Challenge 6 as I started with the right eyeball :D. Reflected it, kaleidoscoped it, made a pattern from it and orbed the pattern for the centre and used the same pattern with a colour and scale change for the background and frame. We need new bathroom tiles - wonder if this would work :D

Hi Mary Lou,
The same thing happened to me. When I finished the tut, I had the "two kidneys".
So I decided to stop after applying the Polar Coordinates. Then, I embellished the image by using different filters.
