The posts up to date are really terrific. Julie, Tony, I particularly like yours. Can't imagine how you went about your second one Tony, it's enough to make me jealous of your talent:)..... Seriously, it's fantastic.

This started out as a beach scene and ended up as a beach scene. Don't ask me how. - Fish

Well... obviously.... with a name like Fish, what else would you expect??? :p

I really like it, though. It looks like a sand globe!

Toni: Wasn't too hard and I've orbed a lot before which helps picking images (we've had some orb extravaganzas before on this forum :D). Here's what I started with - the original crop on the left and the reflected version I orbed on the right). I replaced the background and added the eyes, hair and bow tie just for fun.

http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1YVWdB3P0VjGO7TlhNTqrujRDRnYx_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1YVWdB3P0VjGO7TlhNTqrujRDRnYx)

The basic rule of orbing is that the squarer the image the rounder the result (a perfect square gives a perfect circle) and orbing switches whatever is on the inside with whatever is on the outside and vice versa. So the centre spot becomes the outermost color around the orb.

Wendy has an action in the subscriber area that does the orbing bit which makes it easy to try on anything. You can even orb on-line at dumpr.net . They call them amazing circles and there's a gallery here:

Lots of other fun things to play with at dumpr :D

Wow, thanks for the added info Tony. And the heads up on links. I have done about 20 in the last 24 hours, but as you say.....it's all about the image selected.:) I'm off to look for a busy bright image now...and to have a read of Wendy's tut, ..........stay tuned.

Bill, Thanks.

I really like your '33 Ford. The flames are really cool.

I would say a little less than 50% of the my image is sky.

WOW ....... I hope no one who had already orbed extensively minded doing it again ...... the results are astounding .....

Val - those are great and I'm glad to read that all the giraffes are still safe and sound in the zoo!

Mary Lou - that would make a perfect paper weight.

Tony - the face is incredible, we could almost have another challenge to guess what these orbs started out in life as. The pattern is fantastic, bathroom tiles eh .....

Julie - that is beautiful, very zen.

Clara - I don't think I would've guessed wagon wheel (though knowing it made me peckish - in the UK we used to have a chocolate coated marshmallow filled biscuit called wagon wheel).

Kim - very pretty, supernatural even :D.

Martha - those lillies look lovely in a sphere!

Fish - stunning beach scene, just as if there is a cosmic vacuum cleaner suctioning the scene into spherical form .....

Bill - both turned out great, the car became very neon.

Toni - like velvet, lovely.

Pete - beautiful, flowers work really well in orbs.

Tammy - that is beautiful, hhmmm the fractalius filter looks very tempting....

Sepiana - love the yellows and greens, very summery! Yes the second one looks full of action.

mks - oh those are stunning, the chive flowers look amazing.

Sharon - lovely tones, reminds me of the yin yang symbol.

Bayla - love it, but then part of me thinks it should be in a jar in a lab! Your anthurium is absolutely stunning.

Elle - please post as many as you like, they are all wonderful! I really like both of the stained glass images, the building which looks spirally and the church, but the foot shot, wow, very imaginative.

thank you all, please check out our new challenge tomorrow :)

I'm still wondering why mine (all of them) came out like this and not round. Any ideas?

ML

Mary Lou,

If you crop your mirror image to a square after you've flattened it and before you apply the polar coordinate filter you'll get a round orb.
