Hi Everyone ...

I emailed Carlos earlier about Pixentral. He wasn't aware of the problem but will fix it when he gets home from work :)

My don't we miss it when it isn't working :)

Anyone else having problems with Pixentral again? Every time I click on an image it says i'm using Internet explorer and says I should download Firefox something or other. I'm not using Explorer, I use AOL. It will not let me look at the images unless I click a secondary link.

Nancy, I'm on aol & exactly what you said is happening to me too. I don't use IE unless I have to.

I was just looking over the more recent pictures of the photo assignment and had no problems -- but then I'm using Firefox. I don't use IE much anymore except for software that is hard-wired to use it.

I have both IE and Firefox and can only view photos in Firefox. Same was true on a computer at our library where they have IE only ... just got the pop up.

It seemed to be fine last night (GMT -8 ) but went gaflooey (tech term .. sorry) this morning.

Firefox is a great browser and my Husband uses it all the time now ... I use Camino and think that its the best ever browser but it is Mac only ...

I'm using Firefox and am having no problems posting or viewing on Pixentral. I uninstalled AOL months ago and use IE only for (as Will said) hard-wired updates.

I can view the pictures but get the annoying popup add asking me to down load fire fox. I have to click a second time to view the pictures. A bit of a pain, and I'm not interested in getting firefox. I have IE.

I don't want to change anything, like Pauline said it makes it a hassle to view something though.

I emailed Carlos and he wrote back that it should not be doing that. He will check on it. He said it should only give you the notice one time.

Thanks Nancy. I was getting notice every bloody time! Wouldn't be so bad if it were a little popup in the corner that you could ignore but it covers the whole screen.

And when I tried to upload /view my own photo/copy short cut I had to go thru that same pop-up again. Then it didn't even save my "shortcut" & I had to upload again.

Hello everyone,

I am getting the pop-up EVERY time I try and view an image :x It is very frustrating :(

I'm still getting this... you can see the image by clicking the link under the Firefox message but it isn't very obvious to anyone else.

I think I will post images via my ISPs webspace for a while...

I've spent my day in a semi-productive manner (for a change) -- only took one nap but worked on setting up an alternative to pixentral.

What I need are a couple volunteers to try out the process to see if it is acceptable as an albeit inelegant alternative to Pixentral.

This will also be used as the Spectator's Gallery for the Scrapbook Pages.

What do you need us to do, Will? I'll help. :)

Will,
Count me in too. However, was just on Pixentral and it was working without the Firefox pop-up. Tomorrow could be another story though so we should have an alternative.
