I use Elements 5 and recently bought a Panasonic Camera that allows me to shoot raw images. I also have a copy of Scott Kelby's book on Photoshop Elements 5 which I've found helpful fr simple how to do scenarios.

My issue now is that having taken a series of photos in Raw to play around with when I try to open them up I initially get a dialogue box saying Photoshop Raw options which is not what is described in SK's book and if I simply click ok all I then get is a rectangular dark grey image and not the Camera Raw processing dialogue I was expecting.

Any ideas or suggestions please as to what is wrong.

phmc,

You probably need to update your camera raw plug-in file to a version that supports your camera.

I'm having a similar problem. I downloaded the Adobe RAW plug-in which is supposed to support my Canon EOS 40D, but I'm still unable to upload RAW files. Any suggestions?

Okay, let me ask some very specific questions. What version did you download? Did you install it following the directions on the Adobe website? If so, when you go into Editor, and select Help->About Plug-In, is there a Camera Raw in the list of plugins? If it is in the list, select Camera Raw and tell us what version is listed.

Many thanks for your help. I've downloaded the latest plug -in and things are displaying just fine.

I figured it out. As you suspected, I had initially downloaded the wrong version. Thanks.
