Ellen's right ... the dino is straight from a shop on Albuquerque's Central Ave ... aka Route 66. The background photo is one of mine from a garden in Austin.

Why are Fred and Barney so glum? I think they just received notice of a major down-sizing at Slate and Co. (bummer!) :(

The background picture was taken at a local park. This section of the park is actually called Flintstone Park. How cool is that? The dino's in the background are toys.
(yeah, okay... so I still play with plastic toys! So what?) :o

Side note...I did not know this until this morning when I hit Google to remind myself if we saw these in Utah or Colorado (the park spans two states), but the visitor's center, which houses these spectactular fossils, has been closed to the public since July of 2006 because the building erected to shelter the fossils is deteriorating to unsafe conditions. I'm glad I got to visit when I did (July of 2005) because it's not clear if - or when - the center will reopen. Sad...
