Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there any way to give a photo a paint-by-number or jigsaw puzzle effect? Thanks for any help.

Hi,
In the subscriber area, under videos, there is one called "Jigsaw puzzle" by Corey Barker, dated 03/29/07. He uses PE5. I've tried it myself. It works really well. Note: I use PE4.

Yes - if you are a subscriber there is a great video on using PSE to create a jigsaw puzzle effect for photos. You can log in, click Videos, and search for "puzzle" and it pops right up.

Panos has a great puzzle effect that is free. Go HERE (http://www.panosfx.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=142) and scroll down almost to the bottom of the page to find it.
Here's a very simple one I did using Panos's action:

I would love to learn how to do the puzzle effect, but when I went to play the video it had no sound. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Thanks,
Shirl, I think this has to do with which version of the Quicktime PLayer you're using. Have you updated QP lately?

...can i make the pieces "explode" and then come back together again? It sounds like you want animation - the only animation that Photoshop Elements can do is with animated GIFs.

i'm thinking that if i can break a picture into a couple three puzzle pieces that fit together, then these pics will go to powerpoint where i can animate them. the cookie cutter pieces don't fit together as far as i can tell.

I don't have it loaded on this machine, but believe that the Panos puzzle thingy leaves all of the pieces on individual layers - which would facilitate your goal.
Can someone confirm/refute?
