I downloaded some brushes. I followed the instructions and placed them in the adobe elements presets brushes etc. The new brush shows as an abr file here using explorer. BUT, in my Elements 6, it does not appear as an option. Yes, I did remember to restart Elements. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Try this....
Select the Brush tool and click on the brush picker dropdown.
In the brush picker window, look on the right side for a small double-arrow, click that for a flyout menu.
From the flyout menu, select Load Brushes
From the "Load" window that pops up, navigate to the Brushes folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Presets\Brushes
Find the brush you put there, click on it, then click the Load button.
That should load the new brush into your brush picker. It should have showed up there anyway... don't understand why it didn't as it sounds like you followed the proper procedure.
I have downloaded so many new brushes that I don't use regularly, that I keep a folder called Extra Brushes on my desktop and load them this way when I want to use one of them.
Hope this works for you.

I have also put my abr brushes file in the correct preset folder, restarted, deleted preferences, etc. and they still do not show in my brushes dropdown in elements 6. Yes, I can load them manually everytime but I want them to show automatically as they do in elements 5 on a different computer. thanks, kirby
