View Full Version : Slideshow Output

Hi

Am trying to output a slideshow either to DVD (PAL) or Premiere Elements 4 but PE6 either does nothing (send to PE4) or prompts me to save as a WMV file (not what I want to do). I can import the wmv into PE4 and then render and burn that to DVD but it's hardly a seamless process. I had anticipated something a bit more joined up than that!

I can create a SVCD but that's no use due to lower quality and player compatibility problems.

Any advice welcome on how this function is supoposed to work and why it doesn't.

Cheers

Andy

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

Yes, something considerably more joined up than that should happen. When you Send to Premiere Elements 4, after a prompt about saving your slideshow if you haven't already done that, Premier Elements 4 should start up and open up a project which consists of the images in your PSE6 slideshow.

Premiere Elements 4 is fully installed and functioning on your PC is it? I.e. will it start up as a standalone application?

Hi Nick

Glad my expectations were right - thanks for your response. Yes Premiere Elements is installed and working fine as I can edit video and burn DVDs with it - although this is the first time I have tried to interface between the two apps. I should add that the PC is running Win Vista Ultimate 32 bit - in case this is relevant.

Is there a preference option I need to set within Elements or Premiere that alerts them to eachother's existence?

It's a very odd problem.

I don't remember setting any preference or option. It just worked....

I suggest you repost your query in the Premiere Elements (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15) subforum - you'll probably have better luck in attracting the attention of somebody with more knowledge of PE4.

Andy,

Apparently you posted this issue at least twice. I just saw this one after I posted my response to the other.

One post should do it, and often multiple posts of the same issue can be confusing and counterproductive.

Here is my response to your question that you posted in the Premiere Elements forum here today and that I answered today.

Be that as it may, the main thing is that you resolve the issue and have a workflow that works for you. So wherever you post, we will find you.

I will be watching both the threads for your response of success.

Hi ATR,

In all fairness to Andy, he only reposted it because I suggested that the PE subforum was more likely to attract the attention of the folks like yourself who are more intimately acquainted with Premiere Elements.

Sitting here, he'd only got little old me, who wasn't able to help him.... :)

I did not realize that Andy had been referred to the Premiere Elements Forum. But, as I suggested, I browse other forums here besides Premiere Elements and try to help out wherever I can. So I usually find threads such as his and get involved. Some times I can help, some times I goof, but I try (that is, try not to goof).

All that being said, if Andy has only "little old you", he has a valuable, solid, knowledgeable user. With all those gifts and insight, you are a force of many even though you may consider yourself a single user/helper.

Andy and I are still exchanging ideas over at the Premiere Elements Forum, so, if time permits, it would be good if you could visit that other thread and comment if we are going over the deep edge.

Thanks again for your continued contributions,

ATR

Andy has done a good job resolving his problem. He found that the answer involved "User Adminstrator" setting in his Vista operating system. Take a look at his other thread to see more details:
