are all elements the same

I have elements 6 and see a lot of tutorials in different versions of elements. Am i right in saying that element 6 has everything plus some as the older versions of elements? I have been viewing youtube tutorials which are some what helpful until I find out I don't have some of the effects, buttons, actions (whatever they're called) that they are using. I wish they would tell you what version of photoshop they are using, it sure would save a whole lot of time. Does anyone know of some good free tutorials for elements 6.

There are more and more tutorials coming out for Elements 6.0. A good site to start out with is at http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/.

Here you will find tons of free tutorials and Video's. If you buy a subscription you will have more than enough to keep you busy for quite awhile.

And, if you have a problem or question ask here. Someone will always be of help when you need it.

Are they the same? Sort of, Each new version has more to offer. I use a lot of the 4 and 5 tutorials, They usually work just fine, might be a keystroke difference, and the new tools in six over five are only a few.

There are some differences between versions. Obviously every version adds features but there are also some minor control differences. 2,3,4 are more alike and 5,6 are more alike. I found that most tutorials will not only work from version to version, but I have learned a lot from Photoshop CS3 tutorials as well. I sometimes have to find workarounds but it is not always about the project of the tutorial I am interested in, it is about learning what things in Elements can do and how things react with each other.
You will find more tutorials for Photoshop than for Elements.

There are differences between the various versions of Elements. Personally I have Versions 3 & 6 on my computer, but it makes no difference if the tutorial is for 3,4,5,6 or even Photoshop.....there's usually some way of doing it and if you get stuck then just post a question here and someone will be able to help you!:)
