I'm making an 8 x 10 photo for my son's baseball team. What I need to know is can I resize the team photo after the fact or do I need to restart?
I have the .psd file saved but when I go to resize the team photo it comes in too large for the rest of the collage. I hope this makes sense.

When you pull your photo in. Make sure that is the layer that is highlighted and hit Ctrl T to bring up your freetransform option.

Then you can scale it to fit. :)

Let's see, you didn't say what software you are working in...
So try it without the shift key. If the proportions don't stay correct. Ctrl Z to undo, then work it again with the shift key.

this should get you were you want to be.:D

I knew I wasn't being real clear to what I'm trying to do. What I want to do is crop the team photo and put it back in at the same size as my original. If I constrain my dimensions I lose space on the sides. I'm trying to lose some sky. I am using PSE6

Why not crop the team photo the way you want it, then copy and paste it to your collage. If you make sure the resolution of both the collage and the team photo are the same when you start out, say 300 ppi (optimum for printing), the photo should be closer to the right size when you add it, I would think.

With the team photo is on its own layer and that layer active:

Use the rectangular marquee tool to frame the part of the picture you want to keep, Select>Invert, Edit>Cut

or

Use the rectangular marrquee tool to select the part of the picture you want to get rid of. The selection box doesn't have to be precise. Your selection ignores the transparent pixels, just make sure all the solid pixels you want gone are selected. Then Edit>Cut
