Hi all-
I am kinda new here (which will be obvious in a second) and I was wondering how to add a picure by my name-I tried to do this when I joined originally but it was too big..? not sure how to make it work for this forum. Also, do I need to resize or how do I save photos and scrapbook pages that I want to use to create a "personal gallery" not sure if these are the words to use- to display my work? I watched the video when I joined but thought maybe there is some basic preparation (that is assumed i know) to my photos/work before I try it out.
Thanks in advance, everyone is so nice and helpful here, I am excited to be a part of it:)

Maribee,
The little picture by your name when you post a message is called your avatar.
You can manage your avatar by clicking "UserCP" (for User Control Panel) at the left end of the main navigation bar on any page of this site. Then, under "Settings and Options", select Edit Avatar. You will then be able to upload your desired image from your computer. "The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)", according to the information on that page.
To add images to your Gallery, click the "Gallery" link, second from the left on the main navigation bar on any page of this site. Then, when the Gallery appears, click "Upload", second from the right, on the Gallery navigation bar which appears just below the main navigation bar.
The file size restrictions can be viewed if you click the "View Allowed Extensions" link adjacent to the field where you can browse for an image on your computer. The maximum dimensions are 700 px wide, 600 px tall, and a file size of 2MB. I suggest you prepare a version of your image using Save For Web, and adjust the dimensions and compression, there. I strongly suggest you don't upload 2MB files!! Using Save For Web, you can adjust the compression (Quality), and a 100 - 200 Kb file should be plenty for most Gallery purposes.
HTH... post back with any additional questions.

Open your scrapbook page.
File>Save for web
Set image size to 600x600pixels
Choose jpg, and adjust the quality so that the file size is about 100k.
Save the image where you will be able to find it to upload. You may want to start a folder to put all of your gallery photos in.
