Well I am pleased to say that I have sold my first print and four more commissioned (Look Off in NS) and on top of this I have booked a wedding. The wedding I'm a little nervous about but looking forward to it at the same time. I am going to see a local photographer this week that is looking for a touch up person for his wedding season as well. Lots of things are happening!
Cheers,
CL

That is great news - congratulations! Looks like you are going to need to change your signature though - no more hobbyist photographer!

Welcome to the Next Level.
Cheri-Lynn, Congratulations are in order to you for your Selling you First Print. Makes you sit up and take notice Uh??
If your able to, learn as much as you can from the Photographer and his Retouching so you can see the Flavor of the Wedding. What happens and when so you will not have any surprises.
My 2 Only Suggestions are:
Practice, Practice and keep Practicing
Next up, use Two Flashes. The Second Off Flash is used as the Main and the Flash on the Bracket next to the Camera is the Fill. Obviously, you will need a Second Person to handle the Pole w/Light on it and your always much better of with a Second Person to Help anyway.
As a Professional Wedding Photographer, No matter how small the Job is keeping a distance from the Average Joe with his Point & Shoot by using a Second Light will Automatically make your images command a lot more Respect.
An added Bonus: Look up on the Net Monte Zucker and study his Poses, he was one of the Top Wedding Photographers I would say of All Time and his Work Is Legendary.

Cherie - Congratulations on selling your images. That is a super feeling isn't it? And best of luck to you finding a photographer that you can work well with.
Before you do your wedding check out this forum thread (http://photocamel.com/forum/weddings/45297-open-letter-newbie-wedding-photographers.html). I've found some really good advice in the wedding forum at the PhotoCamel.
